Ajanta Pharma steers MUHAS on malaria treatment

A Mumbai based firm, Ajanta Pharma Limited, has partnered with Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences to help on malaria treatment.
Being a is Global player with the experience of over 40 years in pharmaceutical industry, Ajanta Pharma through the visionary leadership of Mr Yogesh Aggrawal, has for years now been engage in CSR activities beyond business in health care, education, community development and ecology by introducing an Expert E-Talk program.
This program is a scientific initiative of Ajanta Pharma in association with MUHAS to help improve the knowledge of medical fraternity on malaria treatment.
According to the company's press release, the event was made live through Zoom ( Zoominar) platform and was organised with 2 useful topics.
In the first topic titled "The Malaria case management - usage of multiple ACTs" was presented by Dr. Billy Ngasala, Senior Lecturer, Department of Parasitology ( DOP), MUHAS, explained the recent developments in the chemotherapy area of malaria case management .
However, the second topic; "Comparison of Efficacy & Safety of ALU vs DHA + PPQ " was presented by Dr. Richard Mwaiswelo, Senior Lecturer, Department of Microdoiology, Kairuki Memorial University who explained in detail the effectiveness and safety of dufferent ACTs.
The moderator of the event Dr. Dinah Gasarasi, a senior lecturer at DOP-MUHAS, having rich experience in teaching the students of both under graduates and post graduates program. This event was organised by Mr Kumar Bangaru, Senior International Business Manager at Hotel Holyday Inn on 25th July '20 from 19 hours for around 75 minutes.
He stated the press that during this pandemic situation, this kind of scientific CSR programs are considered useful for sharing the knowledge among the healthcare professionals. The activity was purely scientific intended to update the Doctors to improve the overall patient treatment efficiency.
He also stated that Ajanta Pharma is among very few pharma companies at Tanzania which understand Doctor's scientific needs, so, organising such events periodically. "Ajanta pharma is a Pioneer in anti- malarials , Male Erectile Dysfunctions, Cardiology segments in Tanzania," he said.
